Genetic Testing

  • We provide GeneSight testing for patients in this practice. GeneSight tests for genes that are important for the breakdown of medication. This can have some impact on how effective medications are and how likely patients are to experience side effects. The clinical impact of this test is limited but it can provide useful information in some complex cases.

  • Absolutely. We are firm advocates for collaborative, joined-up care and will gladly communicate with any other doctors involved in your care, with your signed permission, as per HIPAA guidelines.

  • We can provide you with a kit, either in the office or to be mailed to you at home.  The test involves swabbing the inside of your cheek with a cotton swab and mailing back to the lab using the return kit provided. Click here to learn more.

  • We do not charge a fee for ordering or interpreting the test.  GeneSight may charge a fee for the laboratory testing. However, in many cases, GeneSight is covered by insurance . Click here to learn more.
